Delgado/Skupski (1) 6-4 6-3 Firmin/Muller (w)
The all British pairing of Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski successfully reached the second round at the Open BNP Paribas in Quimper, France today.
The pair, seeded number one for this Challenger Tour tournament, beat the team of Giles Muller and Emilien Firmin in just over 50 minutes without dropping serve.
Singles specialist Muller, from Luxembourg, is the second seed in the Quimper singles draw and currently ranked 69th in the world.
He and Frenchman Firmin were handed a wildcard entry into the doubles draw but could not overcome the doubles veterans of Delgado and Skupski who frequently compete together on the ATP tour.
In the next round the Brits will face either the German team of Peter Gojowczyk and Jan-Lennard Struff or another wildcard pairing in Belgian Maxime Authom and Frenchman Charles-Antoine Brezac.
