Luke Bambrige & Jonny O’Mara teamed up again for the ATP Challenger event in Sarasota Florida. The Brits were the top seeds. In the first round they drew the only other team to contain a Brit James Ward & Tennys Sandgren. The top seeds took the first set fairly easily as Ward & Sandgren struggled to get going. The second set saw Ward & Sandgren find their game, breaking the top seeds and levelling up the match. The ensuing match tiebreak was close at first, however, the top seeds proved too strong as they moved ahead into the quarter-final 6-2, 3-6, 10-6.

In the quarter-final the Brits drew Alex Lawson & Peter Polansky. Both sets were fairly straight forward with the top seeds breaking each time. The American/Canadian pairing were unable to break back as Bambridge & O’Mara moved quickly through into the semi-final 6-3, 6-3.

The semi-final saw the Brits up against third seeds Nathaniel Lammons & Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi. The American/Pakistani fought hard in the first set, however Bambridge & O’Mara managed to break through and take the set. This seemed to break the spirit of the third seeds as the Brits totally dominated the second set and moved into the final 6-4, 6-2.

In the final the top seeds were up against Martín Cuevas & Paolo Lorenzi. The top seeds stayed toe to toe with the Uruguayan/Italian in both sets, forcing tiebreaks. Bambridge & O’Mara were close in both breakers, unfortunately it was the Uruguayan/Italian who edged each one to claim the title 7-6(5), 7-6(6).
