  • Fourth seeds didn’t drop a set en route
  • Pair were defeated by the top seeds
TABARKA, TUNISIA  – Jake Hersey & Siddhant Banthia made the semi-final of the ITF event in Tunisia. The Brit/Indian were the fourth seeds.

Jake Hersey and Siddhant Banthia entered the doubles in the ITF event in Tabarka, Tunisia. The Brit/Indian were the fourth seeds. The first round opponents were Alex Marti Pujolras & Zakhar Trapeznikov. In the first set Hersey & Banthia showed their dominance, breaking early. The Spaniard/Russian pairing were unable to break back and the seeds were ahead. The second set was much closer as Hersey & Banthia were pushed by Marti Pujolras & Trapeznikov who stayed toe to toe with the seeds. Right at the end of the set the seeds broke to move into the quarter-final 6-3, 7-5.

The opponents in the quarter-final were André Gaspar Murta & Marius Ruzgas. The Portuguese/Swedish pair played well in the first set, however Hersey & Banthia took the break and moved ahead. The second set was dominated by the fourth seeds. Gaspar Murta & Ruzgas could not get into the serve of the fourth seeds. The Brit/Indian broke more or less at will to move into the semi-final 6-3, 6-1.

In the semi-final Hersey & Banthia were facing the top seeds Alexander Merino & Manuel Peña López. The Peruvian/Argentine were comfortable in the first set. The top seeds broke the fourth seeds easily in the set and moved into the lead. The second set was much much closer. The Brit/Indian battled hard, unfortunately the top seeds secured the break of serve right at the end of the set to move into the final 6-2, 7-5.

Dom Inglot with Austin Krajicek were defeated by Cameron Norrie & Jaume Munar in the first round at Wimbledon 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-7(11), 6-3.

Jack Draper & Paul Jubb were defeated by Juan Sebastián Cabal & Robert Farah in the first round at Wimbledon 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.

Jay Clarke & James Ward were defeated by Ken Skupski & John-Patrick Smith in the first round at Wimbledon 6-2, 6-4, 6-2.

Freya Christie & Katie Swan were defeated by Greet Minnen & Alison Van Uytvanck in the first round at Wimbledon 7-5, 6-2.

Naiktha Bains & Naomi Broady were defeated by Barbora Krejcikova & Katerina Siniakova in the first round at Wimbledon 7-5, 6-1.

Sarah Beth Grey & Eden Silva were defeated by Sorana Cirstea & Galina Voskoboeva in the first round at Wimbledon 6-0, 6-3.

Harriet Dart & Katy Dunne were defeated by Chan Hao-Ching & Latisha Chan in the first round at Wimbledon 6-2, 6-4.

Heather Watson with Mandy Minella were defeated by Raquel Atawo & Lyudmyla Kichenok in the first round at Wimbledon 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.

Liam Broady & Scott Clayton were defeated by Nicolas Mahut & Édouard Roger-Vasselin in the first round at Wimbledon 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.

Evan Hoyt & Luke Johnson were defeated by Nicholas Monroe & Mischa Zverev in the first round at Wimbledon 6-4, 6-4, 7-5.

Dan Evans & Lloyd Glasspool were defeated by Leonardo Mayer & João Sousa in the first round at Wimbledon 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski were defeated by Ivan Dodig & Filip Polášek in the first round at Wimbledon 2-6, 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
