  • Jack Draper & Aidan McHugh made the final in Israel
  • Brits were third seeds
KIRYAT SHMONA, ISRAEL – Jack Draper & Aidan McHugh entered the ITF doubles event and were seeded third. The Brits made the final without dropping a set.

Jack Draper & Aidan McHugh teamed up for the ITF doubles event in Israel. The Brits were the third seeds and in the first round were against Rikhardt Bierman & Jesse Ross. The South African/American pair were no match for the Brits. Draper & McHugh totally dominated the match and progressed the the next round in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

In the quarter-final the Brits were up against Dan Hiddleson & Natthasith Kunsuwan. The American/Thai pairing were no match for the third seeds. Draper & McHugh were in great form and continued from where they had left off in the first round. Barely putting a foot wrong the Brits sailed through to the semi-final in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.

The semi-final saw the Brits against the second seeds Riccardo Maiga & Giorgio Ricca. The Swiss/Italian pair could not get to grips with Draper & McHugh who were able to break early and hold on for the lead. The second set was much easier for the third seeds as they dominated and moved through to the final in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.

In the final Draper & McHugh were against Samuel Beren & Raheel Manji. The unseeded American/Canadian pairing knocked out the top seeds in the semi-final and proved to be tough opponents for the Brits. Beren & Manji were able to get the break and take the first set. However, the third seeds re-grouped and dominated the second to level the match and force a match tiebreak. The American/Canadian edged the breaker to take the trophy 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.

Doubles Round Up

Joe Cooper with Michal Konečný were defeated by Conor Berg & Andrej Glvac in the first round in Israel 6-1, 6-2.

Alicia Barnett & Freya Christie were defeated by Shavit Kimchi & Maya Tahan in the semi-final in Israel 6-7(5), 6-4, 11-9.

Tiffany William with Arianne Hartono were defeated by Victoria Muntean & Natalia Siedliska in the semi-final in Israel 6-4, 6-3.

Dom Inglot with Marcelo Demoliner were defeated by Kevin Krawietz & Andreas Mies in the first round in the US Open 6-4, 7-5.

Ken Skupski with Marcus Daniell were defeated by Marius Copil & Nick Kyrgios in the first round in the US Open 6-7(5), 7-5, 7-6(1).

Ken Skupski with Andreja Klepač were defeated by Chan Hao-Ching & Michael Venus in the first round in the US Open 7-6(4), 7-6(5).

Neal Skupski with María José Martínez Sánchez were defeated by Latisha Chan & Ivan Dodig in the first round in the US Open 6-4, 6-3.

Joe Salisbury with Desirae Krawczyk were defeated by Chan Hao-Ching & Michael Venus in the second round in the US Open 6-4, 6-3.

Dan Evans & Cameron Norrie were defeated by Juan Sebastián Cabal & Robert Farah in the second round in the US Open 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.

Jonny O’Mara with Marcelo Arévalo were defeated by Kevin Krawietz & Andreas Mies in the third round in the US Open 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Scott Clayton & Lloyd Glasspool were defeated by Sander Arends & David Pel in the quarter-final in Mallorca 6-2, 6-4.

Anton Matusevich & Harry Meehan were defeated by Walter Trusendi & Francesco Vilardo in the quarter-final in Italy 6-3, 6-3.

Luke Johnson & Ben Jones were defeated by David Jorda Sanchis & Pablo Vivero Gonzalez in the final in Italy 6-4, 6-4.

Jack Gibbens & Isaac Stoute were defeated by Julian Bradley & Nick Chappell in the quarter-final in Cancun 6-3, 6-0.

Jack Findel-Hawkins with Harrison Adams were defeated by George Goldhoff & Tanner Smith in the quarter-final in Cancun 0-0 RET.

Eliz Maloney with Melis Yasar were defeated by Steffi Carruthers & Taylor Cataldi in the first round in Cancun 6-2, 6-3.

Aleksandra Pitak & Katarzyna Pitak were defeated by Haine Ogata & Aiko Yoshitomi in the semi-final in Cancun 2-6, 6-3, 10-7.

Emilie Lindh with Amber Washington were defeated by Stacey Fung & Alyssa Tobita in the semi-final in Cancun 6-3, 6-1.

Ryan Peniston with Cameron Green were defeated by Hiroyasu Ehara & Soichiro Moritani in the first round in Thailand 6-2, 7-6(4).

Samantha Murray & Eden Silva were defeated by Yuan Yue & Zheng Wushuang in the final in China 1-6, 6-4, 10-7.

Amanda Carreras with Linnea Malmqvist were defeated by Karolina Berankova & Kristyna Lavickova in the first round in Prague 7-6(6), 6-4.

Olivia Sonnekus-Williams with Lea Aiche were defeated by Daria Lodikova & Marina Yudanov in the first round in Switzerland 6-3, 6-0.

Michael Shaw with Luis Humberto Lopez were defeated by Jesper De Jong & Michiel De Krom in the first round in Holland 6-4, 6-2.

Emily Arbuthnott & Ali Collins defeated Cemre Anıl & Anna Pribylova in the final in Holland  3-6, 6-0, 10-4.

Ana Popescu with Nadia Echeverría Alam were defeated by Nicole Gadient & Adithya Karunaratne in the first round in Tunisia 6-4, 7-6(5).

Next week Brits play in US Open, Genova, New Haven, Jinan, Cassis, France, Israel, Portugal, Thailand, Tunisia, Croatia, Spain, & Romania.
