WTA Charleston Results & Quick Hits
- Brit hopes took a dent when Miami Open champion Johanna Konta had to withdraw with a right shoulder injury which caused the draw to have a major reshuffle.
- However it was a day for a couple of former champions to shine. Jelena Jankovic just keeps on trucking, hoping it will be ‘lucky 13’ for her.
- Andrea Petkovic and the ‘Petko Dance’ were back in form also, as she came past Lara Arruabarrena, no slouch on the clay herself.
- Highlights for Tuesday’s schedule are the Jankovic back in a quick turnaround against Sam Stosur – since losing to the Aussie in the semi-final of the French Open in 2010, it has been one-traffic for the Serbian and Stosur will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak against her.
- Top seed Madison Keys will be in action in the evening – awaits the winner of Veronica Cepede Royg and Shelby Rogers who are to finish their earlier match, after rain disrupted play.

WTA Monterrey Results and Quick Hits
- Brit action started with a bang as new British No. 2 Naomi Broady got the party started with a convincing win over CiCi Bellis. The momentum might have shifted back and forth but it was a solid start for the Brit.
- However it was not great news for Genie Bouchard whose record in Internationals is looking quite woeful. She was edged in a tight tie-break and from there never really regained her footing in the match.
- Things were not straight forward either for No. 3 seed Caroline Garcia who had to come from a set down against local hope and wild-card Renata Zarazua.
- Defending champion Heather Watson will hope to turn her fortunes around when she opens her campaign later on Tuesday against Nina Stojanovic – read our preview
- Top seed Angelique Kerber hits the court as the last night match, against Francesca Schiavone – the Italian wild-card has said this is her last season so will want to give a good account of herself but the World No. 1 is likely to have too much for her.
