  • Aryna Sabalenka bettered Maria Sakkari to reach the season opening final. On a career-best winning streak, she dominated Sakkari and is into a 13th career WTA singles final, in less than an hour.
  • It will be a first WTA singles final for Veronika Kudermetova after she squeaked past Marta Kostyuk in two tight sets. Experience saw her just pip the Ukrainian to the post.
  • The pair last met at the ITF circuit in 2015

  • No. 4 seed Hubert Hurkacz is yet to drop a set as he stopped the run of Christian Harrison. The American has endured eight surgeries in a bid to continue his tennis career and had a charmed run here but the qualifier finally ran out of steam after a damp conditions caused a short delay and stopped his momentum.
  • Seb Korda denied British No. 3 a second shot at a maiden ATP Tour title. Cameron Norrie had a superb run as had the young American actually had a little wobble, squandering a couple of match points before finally getting over the line.
