AMSTEVLEEN, NETHERLANDS – Emily Appleton teamed up with Dasha Ivanova and were seeded second in the ITF event. The Brit/American progressed to the final without dropping a set.

Emily Appleton teamed up with Dasha Ivanova for the ITF event in the Netherlands. The Brit/American were the second seeds. In the first round the second seeds were drawn against Astrid Wanja Brune OlsenAnette Munozova. The Norwegian/Swede were no match for Appleton/Ivanova. The seeds strolled through the match, dropping only one game and winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.

The quarter-final saw Appleton & Ivanova against Noa Liauw A FongStephanie Judith Visscher. The Dutch pairing were competitive with the second seeds in the first set. The Brit/American secured the break needed to take the lead. In the second set the seeds were much too strong for the Dutch pair and eased through the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-0.

In the semi-final the second seeds were drawn against Marian Capadocia & Andrea Renee Villarreal. The Brit/American were pushed hard in the first set, the Filipino/Mexican were broken by the seeds to take the lead. Appleton & Ivanova once again broke serve in the second set to move into the final 6-4, 6-3.

The final saw the second seeds against Marlies SzupperEva Vedder. The Austrian/Dutch pairing made the better start. Szupper & Vedder managed to break the serve of Appleton & Ivanova in the first set and took the lead. Although the Brit/American tried hard to fight back in the second set, Szupper & Vedder were too strong and broke serve again to take the title 6-3, 6-4.




Doubles Round Up

Joshua Paris & Neil Pauffley were defeated by Fred Gil & Adam Taylor in the first round in France 7-6(4), 7-6(3).

Billy Harris with Maciej Rajski were defeated by Javier Barranco Cosano & Raul Brancaccio in the semi-final of Spain 6-1, 6-7(7), 10-3.

Adam Jones with Youssef Rajia were defeated by Patrik Brydolf & Luca Gelhardt in the first round in Netherlands 6-2, 7-5.

Emily Arbuthnott with Romy Koelzer were defeated by Marina Bassols Ribera & Guiomar Maristany Zuleta De Reales in the semi-final in Spain 6-1, 6-4.

Tara Moore with Chanel Simmonds were defeated by Usue Maitane ArconadaEmina Bektas in the quarter-finals of USA 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.

Alicia Barnett with Shelby Talcott were defeated by Sophie ChangMaria Sanchez in the quarter-final in Canada 6-3, 6-3.

Samantha Murray with Erika Sema were defeated by Julia GlushkoSanaz Marand in the quarter-finals in Canada 6-3, 6-2.

Maia Lumsden & Eden Silva were defeated by Rita Maria Bentes De Oliveira Pinto & Lauren Proctor in the first round in Portugal 6-3, 7-6(1).

Next week Brits play in Umag, Newport (USA), Gatineau, Estonia, USA Futures, Spain, Malaysia, Belgium, Canada, Portugal & Italy.
