Following on from his Davis Cup triumphs was not easy for Pouille, who ended up beign bounced out of Monte Carlo in his opening round, but the year itself has not been bad for the Frenchman with three finals and a title already this year, and he looks in a good place to make it a second piece of tin this week.

If anyone impressed last week it was seeing Gasquet in resurgent form before he finally struggled physically in a bruising quarter-final against Alexander Zverev in Monte Carlo. Having struggled so much with injury, his form this year has been a welcome return for the veteran Frenchman.
