Sydney, Australia. Jamie Murray & Bruno Soares played the quarter final and semi final in one day to reach their first final together.

Due to bad weather Murray & Soares found themselves having to play two matches in the same day. Having made a start to the quarter final Murray & Soares found themselves leading the first set the match was postponed. The pair then came out today to complete the quarter final, taking the match in straight sets against Matt Reid & Jordan Thompson a wild card pairing. Murray & Soares eased through to the semi final 6-4, 6-4.

Later they played the semi final against Lukasz Kubot & Marcin Matkowski. The Brit/Brazilian took the first set 7-5 before Kubot & Matkowski ran away with the second set 6-2. It took a match tiebreak to settle the match, with Murray & Soares taking control they took the final set 10-3 to make their first final together.

Over in Bangkok Joshua Milton played the quarter final against the top seed. Milton had progressed through qualifying to reach the quarter final. Unfortunately the top seed Mikhail Youzhny, showed his experience as he defeated Milton in straight sets, for the loss of only two games. In the doubles Neal & Ken Skupski played the top seeds in the semi final. The brothers kept the score close in the first set, and a tiebreak ensued, the Brits ultimately lost the breaker 7-3. The second set proved easier for the top seeds and they closed out the set 6-3.

The Australian Open qualifications continue with Dan Evans seeking to make the main draw. If he is able to defeat Bjorn Fratangelo tonight he will qualify for the first round.

Play continues tonight from 11:30pm (GMT) in Melbourne and from 5am (GMT) in Sydney
